We are rolling out a new menu for Art of the Cocktail tonight at the Z'Bar. Classic cocktails served from 5-9 pm, with live Jazz in the background and half-price Appys on the bar. We will be making the Vesper martini in celebration of the new Bond movie which we saw last night (you will not, however, be ordering six of them, as 007 did in the movie.) We will also be shaking the Corpse Reviver No. 2, since we have to use up that Lillet somehow.

Hi! I have a question you may be able to answer which is totally unrelated to this post, I hope that's all right.
Every year for my boyfriend's birthday, I make him a real meal. 4 courses, drinks to match, etc. I ask him to give me a theme and then I make the dishes around it. Last year it was Italian. This year I ordered him to get more creative, and his response was Old Fashions.
A menu entirely planned around OLD FASHIONS?!?!? I'm from Wisconsin so I got very excited and immediately started looking for bitters recipes. Only... I don't have enough time to make them . So, my question is: do you know of any bars in Austin who make their own bitters? And do you think they would be willing to sell it to me? I heard Marlowe and Sons in NYC sells their homemade bitters but I'd prefer to go local with it if possible. Although I think it may be against TABC to sell them... worth a shot, anyway.
Thanks! If you'd prefer to respond via email that's cool. Have a good night and a happy New Year!
